lean and mean:very competitive
high flyer:someone who has a lot of ability and a strong desire to be successful and is therefore expected to achieve a lot:
workforce:all the people who work in a particular country, industry, or factory
cut to the bone:if a service or an amount of money is cut to the bone, it is reduced as much as possible.
scarf down:to eat something very quickly

cold sober:not affected by a chemical substance (especially alcohol)
three-martini lunch:A leisure lunch taken with other proffessionals for the purposes of buisness. Often with clients or coworkers. 3 martini's = 3 hours.
wine and dine:to entertain someone by giving them an expensive meal and wine.
be nuts about:be crazy about
abstain:to not do something, especially something enjoyable, because you think it is bad for your health or morally wrong
